bautec.Innovation Award for PERI DUO, Berlin

The universal composite formwork DUO has received yet another innovation prize; this time at the bautec in Berlin. Regardless whether in France, India or South-West Africa – since its global launch at the last bauma in Munich, PERI DUO has convinced customers and specialist juries around the world.

The bautec in Berlin has now closed its doors: from 20 - 23 February, numerous trade fair visitors had the opportunity to find out more about the latest products and system solutions for the construction sector. For the first time in Berlin, the 2018 show featured the bautec.Innovation Award. For this, fair visitors voted on innovative new products and further developments that are currently being introduced into the market and have been successfully geared to meet the needs of the users. Visitors were able to vote directly on the spot where all the exhibits of a total of 15 nominees were presented as part of a special display.

The bautec.baer of Berlin

The DUO Composite Formwork System from the Weissenhorn-based formwork and scaffolding manufacturer, PERI, achieved third place at the public award ceremony thereby taking home a prestigious bautec.baer. The DUO formwork, a universal lightweight formwork for walls, foundations, columns and slabs, acquit itself extremely well against numerous well-known companies and service providers active in the construction business. The innovative formwork system convinced the trade show visitors through its low weight, simple handling and range of possible applications.

Lightweight and universal

The DUO panels along with the formlining as well as most accessories are made of a new type of composite material. This material is particularly lightweight and, at the same time, very stable. The low weight of the DUO system components has a positive effect in many instances. The lightweight components make handling easier, reduce physical strain while simultaneously significantly reducing the risk of accidents. Regarding transportation and logistical operations, less moving masses are involved whereby no equipment nor cranes with high payloads are required – this obviously reduces energy and machine costs. Last but not least, DUO makes a very convincing case with its extremely flexible application possibilities: with DUO, walls, foundations, columns as well as slabs can be formed using numerous identical components – more than two thirds of all system components can be used for horizontal and vertical applications.
